Murders In The Building Season 4

Murders In The Building Season 4

Okay, let's talk about Only Murders in the Building. Specifically, Season 4. The gang's all here again, right? Charles, Oliver, and Mabel. Our favorite unlikely detective trio. They've solved murders in their fancy New York apartment building. Now they're going somewhere new. Bigger change, I think.

This time, the murder takes them to Hollywood. Yes, Los Angeles! The land of sunshine, movie stars, and… well, more murder, apparently. I have a feeling this is going to be a whole new ballgame. Our trio are city folks. They thrive in the cozy, slightly dusty confines of the Arconia. The concrete jungle is their natural habitat. Now, they're trading in their comfy sweaters for… what? Designer athleisure? I can already picture Oliver trying to navigate a red carpet. It’s going to be glorious chaos.

My unpopular opinion? I’m a little worried. Not that I don’t trust Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. They are absolute gold. Their chemistry is like a perfectly aged cheese. But Los Angeles… it’s a different beast. Will the cozy intimacy of the Arconia be lost? Will the quirky neighbors we’ve come to love be replaced by plastic surgery enthusiasts and aspiring actors? I hope not. I really do.

Imagine Charles trying to do his brooding detective thing under a blazing sun. He's more of a "gloomy Tuesday afternoon" kind of guy. And Oliver? He'll probably try to direct the whole investigation like a Broadway show, complete with jazz hands and dramatic pronouncements. It'll be hilarious, don't get me wrong. But will it be the same Only Murders charm?

And Mabel. Bless her heart. She's the voice of reason, the stylish anchor. I can see her trying to keep Charles and Oliver from getting too swept up in the Hollywood glitz. She’ll be rolling her eyes so hard, I'm surprised they don't fall out. She's the one who will probably uncover the real clues while the boys are busy trying to get autographs.

The victim this season, from what I’ve gathered, is a bit of a big deal. Someone connected to a movie. Possibly a movie star. Or a producer. Or someone who knows where all the secrets are buried in Tinseltown. This opens up a whole new world of suspects. Think about it. Everyone in Hollywood has a motive. Everyone has something to hide. It’s practically a requirement.

I’m picturing a lot of fake smiles and backstabbing. The kind of people who will offer you a kale smoothie while simultaneously plotting your demise. It's a far cry from Mrs. Gambolini and her questionable knitting skills. Though, I wouldn't put it past them to find a murderer with a penchant for yarn bombing.

What if they get caught up in some kind of old Hollywood scandal? A lost manuscript, a secret affair, a rigged award show. The possibilities are endless, and frankly, a little overwhelming. I just hope they don't forget their roots. The podcast is still the heart of the show. They need to keep recording, keep digging, even if they’re doing it from a poolside cabana.

And the guest stars! Oh, the guest stars will be incredible. I can already imagine them snagging some legendary Hollywood figures. Imagine them interviewing Meryl Streep, or Robert De Niro, or some of the original stars of the era. It’s going to be a casting director’s dream. And our viewing pleasure will be through the roof.

But let’s be honest. My biggest hope is that they bring back some of the familiar faces from the Arconia. Even if it’s just a brief cameo. I need to know what happens to Uma Heller. Does she ever get her revenge on Charles? And what about Howard? Is he still practicing his clarinet with questionable talent? These are the burning questions, people!

If they can strike that perfect balance between the glitz and the grit, the new and the familiar, Season 4 could be another triumph. I’m cautiously optimistic. I want them to succeed. I want them to solve this Hollywood mystery. I just… I just hope they don’t lose themselves in the process. And I really, really hope Oliver doesn’t try to make a musical about this murder.

Because if he does, I might have to move back to the Arconia myself, just to escape the spectacle. But hey, at least it would be entertaining, right? That's the magic of Only Murders in the Building. Even when I'm a little worried, I know I'll be glued to the screen, waiting to see what delightfully absurd thing they do next. Bring on the murder, the mystery, and hopefully, a few more cantankerous cats.

Here's hoping they find a killer who's just as clueless and charming as they are. And maybe, just maybe, they can find a decent bagel in Los Angeles. That's asking a lot, I know. But a fan can dream.
